Опис
The novel tells the story of a family in the Ukrainian city of Lviv. Here, they experience the collapse of the Soviet Union and the wild 1990s. The story is told from the perspective of a dog who lives with six family members in a dilapidated old apartment. They are members of a typical Soviet family trying to weather the upheavals: a retired colonel of the Soviet Air Force who comes from eastern Ukraine and survived the Holodomor as a child; his wife from Azerbaijan; their daughters Olja and Tamara, both divorced, along with their daughters Marusja and Mascha. It is a grand narrative about change, about adaptation, about homeland and home, about arriving and leaving.
